    There is a fundamental misalignment in two of the challenges we have heard throughout the day to building a resilient (and I will add adaptive capacity) food system. On one hand, we need knowledge for action to avert imminent environmental degradation; on the other hand, the call for systems research, which I do agree with, is a minimum 10-year proposal because of accepted feedbacks, nonlinearities, etc. How do we reconcile these two needs, now.
